New Believer to Evangelistic Mission Trip
You may remember us mentioning Madelyn and Sydney in previous letters. Both women attend our church and both decided to go on a Cru summer mission this summer. Madelyn has been sharing with her Hindu friends, and Sydney came to Christ with Holly in February, got baptized, and is now even considering joining staff with Cru after college!
Sydney said, “My mission trip was truly amazing. I felt God working through me. The tools we learned (to share the gospel), I will continue to use to show people this grace and peace I have received, in hopes they will welcome it as well…I felt so incredibly close to Him. Our relationship has grown immensely.”
Madelyn shared, "We initiated spiritual conversations with many people on the beach and at a college campus. God showed us that so many people are willing to talk with strangers! One conversation was with a student, Jordan, from San Diego State University. We had the opportunity to talk to him for 40 minutes while he was waiting for a tow truck. We asked him questions using a Spiritual Interest Survey, and then we shared a gospel booklet with him. God has filled me with joy and excitement to continue sharing His good news wherever He leads me.”
These two women are a reminder of why it is so important to disciple people in evangelism and their role in the Great Commission. After just a ONE-WEEK mission trip, they are now motivated and equipped to share the gospel with others.
Holly’s Upcoming Sabbatical
For the first time in 24 years, Holly will be taking a 3-month sabbatical from August-October. During that time, she will be rewriting her first book, “Follow My Lead” as well as seeking the Lord about her next role in Cru now that she has completed her Master’s in Theology. Please pray for her as she engages the Lord about her future.
