Training Students in Sharing Jesus with Others

Training Students in Sharing Jesus with Others

Around 1,000 college students gather in Southern California every January to grow their faith over the long weekend. This year, Holly taught students how to share Jesus with others. It is challenging to go from initiating a conversation to sharing the gospel.  The students went out on a “Day of Faith” and initiated with 1,365 people. Of those, they were able to engage in 539 spiritual conversations. They might have learned about someone’s faith background or their view of Jesus. When they asked if they could share the gospel further, 139 people were interested in hearing more. Of those, 12 people indicated decisions for Christ.

This was all done by initiating conversations with strangers. For this generation, approaching strangers, let alone having personal conversations about one’s faith, is a scary step. But these statistics also show that it is essential that we train the next generation to bridge spiritual things, then bridge into the gospel, and then faithfully invite people to put their faith in Jesus.

If talking to others about Jesus is intimidating for you, please consider reading Holly’s book Follow My Lead: Experience the Extraordinary Life of Sharing Jesus with Others. Holly’s passion is training the body of Christ to converse with anyone about Jesus. You can order it on our ministry website or Amazon.

Holly also trained some college students from Norway. They visited the United States on a mission trip, and she taught them to share Jesus with others. Norway's culture is more private than that of the States, so the step-by-step ideas of asking good questions and being a learner increased their confidence in being countercultural and engaging more deeply with their fellow Norwegians.

Personal Update

Matt is still having some health complications. He’s been very tired, obtained a cough that isn’t going away, and still no real update on his “weak” heart diagnosis. We are still going to doctors but seem to only get partial answers.

Holly has finished her second class toward her Doctorate of Ministry and is now researching how to help those in the Christian sphere who have gender dysphoria. Thank you for praying for us all!
