Diversifying Your Assets for Eternal Impact in Brazil
One year ago, Holly took a team of students to Brazil. While there, her team launched 4 new campus ministries in 4 days. It was only possible because of a student named Vanderlei. He set up our entire trip and where we should do outreach. Though a senior in college, Vanderlei was already volunteering as a full-time missionary. He was spending every waking moment training his peers in evangelism and discipleship and overseeing multiple movements on various campuses. After serving with him during that week, Holly knew God was going to use him for great things.
Since very early in life, Vanderlei wanted to be a missionary. He loved hearing stories of missionaries that his parents hosted in their home. In college, he spent one year overseas in Chicago. There he saw hundreds of other students with Cru share the gospel at squares, parks, and universities. He knew he wanted to do this at his university when he returned to Brazil. He’s now not only started movements in his own city but has traveled to other states and countries to help start new movements. He knows that God is calling him to continue making disciples of Jesus in Brazilian universities.
Vanderlei has decided to join staff full-time with Cru to continue to coach and train students in his location where there are currently no staff. We immediately knew we wanted to invest in his ministry because we knew he is a hard worker who loves the Lord and has already led many to Christ. Brazil needs someone like Vanderlei to train churches and ministries so that the church can thrive there. We truly believe we are diversifying our assets and being good stewards of the funds given to us by faithfully partnering with Vanderlei. PERSONAL UPDATE
Please pray for Matt and Holly as they film 19 videos on Holly’s curriculum Disciple to Disciplemaker so that more people can be trained to use it. Pray for Matt’s workload to not be stressful with finishing editing Holly’s new devotional coming out in May, recording and editing these videos, as well as working on some ministry websites.
