Holly's New Role with Global Missions
It’s with great excitement we get to share that Holly has accepted a new role with Global Missions. One of Holly’s passions is inspiring others to go to the world. Having gone to 29 countries herself over her 19 years in ministry, she can help motivate, train and answer questions students have about going overseas for a summer, a year or longer.
Our goal is to send 10% of the students in our movements to the world each year. We truly believe it is the young people that have the time, energy and relatibility to reach students in other countries. Holly will have three focuses in her new role: She will be coaching staff via phone calls on how to keep a focus on global missions throughout the year. Holly will also be visiting campuses to speak and cast vision to students to take a step of faith to go to the world now. Finally, Holly will get to create resources from home to help train students how to engage in cross-cultural ministry. This new role is not only flexible since we still have two little ones in pre-school, but enables Holly to use her passions of teaching, coaching and writing to further the Great Commission.
This summer, Holly taught at two of our briefings preparing hundreds of students to be sent all over the world. It was a joy to see so many students who had been on the Santa Monica Summer Mission from last year taking this next step of faith to go to the world!
We are moving!
In light of both of our roles being more flexible with Cru and not being on a literal campus team, we have prayed about next steps for our family. We both agreed that moving to a more affordable location would make sense, but still a place that is in our region and where we can more easily still travel to CA for speaking engagements and ministry. In light of this, we have decided to MOVE to Phoenix, AZ in July!!! We are sad to leave our church, friends and family here in Southern California, but are excited to see what God has in store for us as we trust Him in this new location.
