College Students Becoming Disciplemakers

170+ FAMILIES PRAYING WITH THEIR KIDS

For those of you who still have kids in school, you may be experiencing what we are: virtual learning. With the virus still looming, parents and children alike are trying to adjust to this new normal, and it isn’t easy. This has been the most demanding time of engaging with our kids than ever, and that means ministry looks different.

Holly had no clue that when she was writing, “Praying with Your Kids Before School” how many parents would need this resource to help them start their day focused and in faith, rather than fear and frustration.  Over 170 families have joined Holly online each week to get a theme with verses and prayers to pray with their child. If you would like to join us, you can sign up for a weekly email here: PrayingWithYourKids.com. Purchasing a book is optional.  Holly will be speaking on FamilyLife Today Radio Aug 31st and Sept 1st with two different interviews on this resource. Go to FamilyLifeToday.com to find local stations and times.

COLLEGE STUDENTS BECOMING DISCIPLEMAKERS

As college begins, with some classes in person and some online, ministry is looking different too. Holly will be leading a group of 20 college students from her church that attend various colleges in the area.  She will be training them on how to begin discipling other students and how to reach out to their fellow students to engage in spiritual conversations, even while learning online this semester. Though visiting campuses are not an option with our kids doing virtual schooling, she will still coach these students from a distance to help them become effective ministers of the gospel on their campuses. Her discipleship resource can be digitally downloaded or physically purchased at:  DiscipleToDisciplemaker.com.

Holly will also be teaching a group of 20 women who want to learn how to become disciplemakers at our church. These two studies will be her ministry focus this semester as her days will be full with helping the kids with their online learning.

PERSONAL UPDATE & PRAYER

This month, Carter decided he wanted to start reading the “real” Bible. He read 26 chapters of Genesis in the first month! Briella wanted to “pray over my friend so that she will believe in Jesus.”  We are so encouraged by their personal relationships with Jesus and how they are taking steps of faith.  Pray for Matt as he continues to develop ministry websites so that students can easily find resources that will guide them to the answers to life’s biggest questions about God and their purpose in life.  Students are searching like never before and living online. His ministry is truly impacting more students than we can count! Thank you for your partnership as we continue to impact families and students with the gospel!
